Adobe Spark vs. Microsoft Sway

My adobe spark presentation:

Where I am heading

My Microsoft sway presentation:

After using both programs, it is really difficult for me to choose one as being better than the other. They are very similar, and are both user friendly to an extent. The user must have general background knowledge on technology programs in order to use the apps to their full potential, otherwise, they will waste a lot of time trying to figure out how to use the programs. Personally, I think that sway is more user friendly, as I got the hang of it pretty quickly compared to spark.

Yet, in a classroom, I can see how spark is more beneficial to students learning and creative ability. Students today are pretty tech savvy, and spark allows students and teachers to be more creative through its different photo display options, and captions that go with the photos. The glideshow option on spark is a pretty unique way to display photos, and makes the presentation look very nice and organized.

Overall, I have a difficult time choosing between the two programs, and I think they are both teacher and student friendly.

Spark Vs. Sway

I would say that I prefer Adobe Spark over Sway. I found that it was much easier to use and navigate Spark than it was with Sway. Also with Sway, I think that it was hard to visualize what the final product was going to look like as opposed to with Spark. In Sway you had to add boxes of content and then click on preview to see what the layout really looked like. With Spark it was easier to see in the moment what your page was going to look like. The pictures were the same size when you added them as they were going to be in the final product. I think the products work in a lot of the same ways, but I would prefer to use Spark.

Graduation 2019: Now What?

After using both Sway and Adobe Spark to create a pages presentation, I have determined that I like Adobe Spark better.

I think it is intrinsically easier to use, but there is less freedom with what kind of formatting you can do. Formatting isn’t hugely important to me because I think that the way that it is formatted makes it easy to get information without getting bogged down with how it looks.

I think that it can be used as a variety of ways, and possibly even replace PowerPoint in some cases. Students and teachers could use it to create presentations that include photos that they are explaining.

I don’t think it would be that necessary to use Adobe Spark Pages for presentations that were mainly text because this tool is more effective when you have images to look at as well.

Adobe Spark Page vs. Sway

Where I'm Going... Spain and Portugal!

After creating a story with pictures on both Adobe Spark and Sway, it is my opinion that Adobe Spark is the better platform.

Adobe Spark has layouts that are more modern and present the graphics in seamless transitions. It is easier to move the pictures and blocks around in Adobe Spark.

Adobe Spark took me a lot less time to figure out how to use and was much more self explanatory than Sway.

I like that both of the platforms allow you to link videos to your presentation.

I think students would be most successful using Adobe Spark if they were going to tell a story about themselves, presenting a research project or putting together a presentation for a photography unit.

Spark Page

I preferred using Spark Page over Sway because I find it easier to navigate and with more options to customize. The page seemed less glitchy and made more sense overall to use. The only downside is that it can’t be collaborated on. Otherwise, I really liked Spark Page, I think it could be very useful in teaching and having students present their learning.

SWAY vs ADOBE SPARK PAGE

Although Sway had some cool features, I personally found Adobe Spark Page much easier to use. I don’t think it matters which app you prefer because they both basically have the same effect. They are both visually pleasing and artistic, which makes them enjoyable to view. I liked that Adobe Spark Page had easier icons to create the aesthetic you were looking for.

On Sway, I talk about where I’m from: Maui. On my Adobe Spark Page, I talk about my plans this weekend, which include visiting my family in Pasadena and spending some time down in Anaheim to go to Disneyland! Both are embedded below 🙂
