Note: This is an example of what your Assignment 2 post might look like. I am more interested in you practicing your public domain search skills than working on an elaborate “activity.” I also want you to learn how to add images, captions and hyperlink in WordPress.

Family Portrait Activity

In my public domain search I found three photographic portraits of families taken in different times and social settings. I would lead intermediate students in a “close reading” of the images in a whole class setting. My guiding questions would include:

  1. How are these images similar? How are they different?
  2. What do they “say” to you about each of these families and the times they lived in?
  3. What do you see that makes you “say” that?
